The Ministry of the Environment has clarified that in the event that an airbag device or pretensioner on a vehicle must be removed as a result of a recall campaign, that device is no longer considered usable and must be immediately managed as “pyrotechnic waste.”
According to a nationwide survey, the take-back and disposal methods in use before the ministerial clarification are still widespread, exposing the Manufacturer to risks related to safety and environmental protection.
